La Belle Ibiza is one of those places that makes you feel immediately at home. The property was originally an old country house, more than 100 years old. One of the things that made me jump at this project was that this house belonged to my great-grandfather Juan Ferrer, a builder here in Ibiza.
It has since been used for several different restaurants. Among these restaurants was the mythical Ayounn, an old school reference on the island.
After going through so many changes, we decided that we would free the place of ornaments and rescue the original space. We demolished all decorative structures that were not part of the original layout and changed the faux-arabesque fireplace for native stone mantelpiece. White lime was used for the walls, hydraulic tile and cement for the floor. Sofas and armchairs were upholstered with Mediterranean fabrics with motifs. The result was a much cooler and brighter space.
